Thai Q Invents Bullet Proof Monk

Thai Q Invents Bulletproof Monk

Thailand’s Muslim insurgency has spawned a new inventor in the mold of the James Bond character “Q” who invented 007’s secret gadgets. Retired Major Songphol Eiamboonyarith, who runs defense contracting firm Precipart Co., creates armored monk mobiles, saffron bullet proof body armour, and numerous devices that shoot rubber bullets. His “sub lethal” weapons provide protection to protect Buddhist monks, Thai Police/Military, and civilians.

His arsenal includes items like police side batons and cell phone guns that shoot rubber bullets, non lethal 170 decibel landmines, and even a bullet proof baseball cap. The landmines – only create a deafening bang - are currently being placed around the perimeter of cell phone towers to deter sabotage.

The company's bulletproof vests have saved 2 police officers in the southern provinces after coming under gun and bomb attacks by insurgents. Thai police have used his rubber bullet shooting side baton and similar items many times to subdue unpredictable assailants high on drugs. The Major has even received thank you letters from some felons grateful the police were able to use his rubber bullets instead of real ones.

Some of his other gadgets include: Armored tuk tuks, rubber Howitzer and mortar shells, water cannons, armored mopeds, and walkie-talkies, video cameras, microphones, and walking sticks that shoot rubber bullets and nets.

The rubber military ammunition is much cheaper than conventional weapons saving the Thai Military considerable sums during training. And with Thailand’s rubber production, Major Eiamboonyarith says, "Why import metal if so much rubber is available".

Several faithful in Thailand's southern provinces have ordered the bulletproof monk vests and donated them to the local Watt to protect the monks from Muslim insurgents. Major Songphol says his devices and sublethal weapons are in use at many locations, but their whereabouts are - "On a need to know basis".
